Champagne Delavenne and lithotherapy

Lithotherapy at the Domaine was born of an encounter and an inspiration. That of Valérie Descamps, reflexologist, phytotherapist, and lithotherapist.

A long-standing practitioner - she was one of the first reflexologists in France - Valérie Descamps has been working in the field of wellness for almost 30 years and has found, in the combination of her 3 complementary disciplines, a complete path of development and support.

After working in hospitals, she went on to found her own practice in Reims and Perpignan, and now lives in the heart of Cathar country. She has been focusing on her lithotherapeutic approach since 2020.

Active and virtuous, stones and minerals can be infused in pure water after a specific cleansing phase, using water and plants, to release their beneficial effects. Each stone is chosen for its inherent richness: amber, rock crystal, moss agate, tourmaline, and green calcite, for example. Valérie Descamps selects them herself, prepares them in her laboratory and monitors their infusion until she has precisely determined when the enriched water (gem water) is ready to become an elixir. Quantities and dosages are strictly defined, giving rise to what she calls “minerals in liquid form”. At the end of the phase, the stones are returned to nature, in streams or torrents, to return to the world and recover all their energy.

Valérie Descamps has seen the success of her methods over several years. When she met Jean-Christophe Delavenne and learned of his quest for vineyard vitality, she had the idea that he experiments these same methods in the vineyard. Attacks of mildew and powdery mildew, for example, gave her the opportunity to test the effectiveness of stones and minerals. In 2021, the results on an infested plot were immediate. Since then, they have deepened their collaboration, refining dosages and choice of stones during annual campaigns.

Whether for support or prevention, lithotherapy offers an open and natural path to more vibrant soils, healthier vines and brighter wines. An inspired and enlightening reconciliation of man and nature.

Lithotherapy applied to the estate is the way to a deep reconciliation with nature.
